Arts Alive Auditions
Lights...Action...Camera!!! Well, it was more like...lip liner, curling irons, fake eyelashes, hairspray...and a bunch of girls going in all different directions....that was what the Choir room looked like before Pizzaz went on stage to audtion for Arts Alive. I got to spend most of the day at SHS with Sarah...At first, I helped with the fund raiser...and then I helped french braid and curl hair to get ready for the audition....I thought that the girls did FABOLUS!!! We have to wait to see what the judges say....one of the judges was Disney's Talent Scout.

Fundraiser - Pewee Car Wash
Miss Amber organized a car wash so that we could raise funds to get thank you gifts for our coaches. We had a blast...I'm not sure if the boys or the "BIG" boys had more water fights...in between cars, the team palyed football in the streets...funny to see them do their drills when they messed up...Coach said they were doing a better job than during practice. It was very nice of Taco Bell to allow us to use their parking lot!The big sisters, Alysha Bailey and Sarah Patz, were our advertisement quite a bit...they got quite a few honks...Sarah wouldn't show me her face...I think that is her better side! Miss Vivian was very faithful and held that sign the entire time!!!Most of the crew - I'm missing some thoughTeam Mom, Miss Amber Bailey!
Mama came for a visit
When I picked Mom up from the airport, I asked her what she wanted to do. "I just want to hang" is what she told me...so she hung :-) She cleaned my house, did my laundry, made dinner, made a cake...swam with the kids and "hung" with us. She was part of Hannah's Girl Scout, Andrew's football game and fundraiser...we kinda really like having her around.

I'm Pouting Tonight....
Today was just a crazy day - a day that seemed so filled - but could hardly get anything done....I really don't like those kind of days...
As I was ending the day, I had to get a package in the Fedex...I get to the box to see that I had missed it by 4 minutes....I called Al w/ Fedex to find out where he was and he was in Sanford, but he made a phone call for me and made arrangements for the person in DeBary to wait for me....
So here is where a not so good day...got a little worse....
I turn around and go down Providence to look up and see the blue lights...oh boy...
In the past, I have smiled my way through a ticket to a warning....
Well, this deputy was older....and though he gave me a break in the ticket...I still got the ticket...and then a summons to go before a judge because I wasn't wearing corrective lenses....ummmmmmm...I don't need them since Lasik...but I've never had that removed from my license....did you know that you had to do that????!!! He proceeded to explain how nice he was being in not arresting me for that...
So I'm pouting....I hate the idea of paying for the ticket...what a waste of money!!! I can think of LOTS and LOTS of things to spend that 116.00 on it! And because, too, I must not be young enough to smile my way through it anymore :-)
Sarah, Andrew and Hannah - there is never a reason to get a ticket - the ticket was my fault!!!
BTW - Fedex did wait for me and I was able to get my package off. A stranger did something kind for me today - it's my turn to pay it back!

I must be in a "Chatty" mood tonight...
As Sarah and I talked about going to a new school for high school, I would always tell her that these high school years will be some of the best years for her. She has so much potential...and it is up to her...the world is in her hands!
Well, my beautiful young daughter has quite a driven and perfectionist attitude...maybe a bit like me...and within the first week of school, she went through quite a Life lesson. Since my camera was not taking pictures of this incident, I thought about how I would put it on the blog. Yet this was a big enough incident to record as part of Sarah's life history.
Soooooooo....I'll try to write the short version since most of you reading this have already heard in detail :-)
Before Sarah even started her freshman year, she had an assignment. She had to read "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "Pieces" After reading the books, she had to write a paper about what she thought was the three most important topics for each book to be turned in on her first day of school. (Sarah is in the IB program)
Sarah got the highest grade of all the incoming IB students...we were very proud of her!! Only to find out the next day that she was being called into the Director's office sometime over the next few days for cheating. Sarah was upset and so was I...and the rest of her family....
I had made several request from the school that Sarah not be spoken to until her father and I were present which was ignored....so Sarah had her conference and was told that when her paper was ran through a computer program that one paragraph came back as 3% similar to that of her very, very good girlfriend...she was on probation and was getting a Zero....(This happened on Friday before Labor Day)
Needless to say, I was furious about the handling of the situation....and by Tuesday morning (after Labor Day), her dad, Alisa's parent and myself were on our way to the school for a conference which was unscheduled but I managed to get the director to see the importance of it....
Soooo...long story short...the school doesn't think that she cheated and understands that the girls would have similar thoughts because of how close and all the talking that they do, but the school has to protect the ethics of IB to uphold original thinking....
Like I said, most of you know all the other things that took place and the attitude, but at the end of the day, Sarah had to learn that people do make mistakes that affect you...and she may never get an apology for the error, but she still has to keep her attitude in check because that person was one in authority...
(I haven't had my mama tiger claws come out in quite some time...but, boy, this was hard for me to swallow!!!!)
Soooo, Baby Girl, I hate that you had to learn this so early in your life and I wish that I could tell you that this won't happen again....but I'm afraid that it will. You are responsible for your actions....always choose to be the better person. Remember, you have to lay your head on your pillow at night, and be at peace with the decisions/actions that you made that day.

They WON!!!!!!
Our little men finally won...and it was a BIG win...28 to 6...and against one of the divisional teams...Andrew played the entire game. This picture was taken towards the end of the game...and what a difference on Andrew's face from the week before when they lost by one. As their coach said, "You don't get as tired when you're winning"...and what a difference in the huddle after the game...everyone...the players, the coaches and parents were stoked!!!!
It reminded me again that hard work pays off...don't quit!!! Last week, I was screaming, "Panthers, do not quit!" Then through out the week, I kept reminding everyone to not quit. You have to give your best every practice...all the time.
This reminded me about "Life"...Failure is only failure if you don't get back up. I am very aware of what "loss" can do to us...but we can't quit...we don't know when that win will be...I'd hate to have fought so hard at something and give up right before the victory

Happy Birthday to Hannah Kay
Hannah had a week long of celebrating. Her dad and Angela did a party at the beach on Labor Day where she had a couple of friends over. Then on the 11th, I took brownies and McDonalds to school for her and her class during lunch. The kids and I went to Olive Garden for Hannah's choice of place to eat. I am very blessed as a mom that my children and I can sit a table, talk and laugh ourselves silly. We had another couple that had a very young toddler come over to us and said that we gave them hope watching us together. I told them not to wish their son to grow up so fast...but enjoy his age now as well...Then we came back home, opened gifts and watched "Race to Witch Mountain". Then on Sunday, we finally had her cake because all of us were able to be together and sing Happy Birthday...
Happy Birthday, Hannah. I love you very much and am so glad that I have you as a daughter!!! You are a joy and a delight!
