Beach Day with Deborah and the Boys

Since the boys had flown all the way in from Colorado, they had to go to the beach. I think that we picked the hottest afternoon of the year and a day when the sand was so hot it literally burned your feet. We tried to get shade with the tent, but we never did get it the whole way upEli enjoying something cool....everything was so hot! Even the sand burned!!!!One for MamaDaniel ran from the waves at first, but it didn't take him long before he got on the boggie board. He held on to my hands... one little boy plus waves pushing a boggie board around equals tired arms ;-)Caleb wasn't so sure about the waves, but he loved the crabs and building in the sandEli's thoughts of the beach

Summer Fun in Daytona

Ron, Mary, Alexis, Cheyene and Lilly stayed with us a couple of days. The girls lived in the pool. We had a movie night on Friday night with hamburgers and ice cream sundaes. Caleb and Eli were with us on this night...not sure what I had fed them though...we had some diapers!!! And boy, did I realize that I am out of practice...keeping a baby out of the way, cooking etc....good thing that I had lots of helpers!!!We spent the night at the La Quinta on the ocean. Of course, the pool at the hotel was different than the pool at home. We took the dogs with us as well.Summer fun in the ocean - Everyone got to body surf. On Sunday while at the beach, I heard Mary say "There is a fin". I looked...I saw the fin...I looked again...I saw the fin and yelled at everyone to get out of the water because there was a shark...then about the time everyone else was saying that it was a dolphin...I saw it jump...still I remember JAWS.We went to dinner at one of my favorite places - Our Deck Down Under though we had tried others but all the places had a two hour wait.By the time we got back to the hotel, everyone crashed.

4th of July

Patrick, Deborah, Daniel, Caleb and Eli flew into town on the 4th. (Sarah, Andrew and Hannah were gone on a trip with their dad and Angela; Tyler was in Idaho; COlton and Wesley were in Arizona. It was a little "strange" not having the big kids around...really missed them)...but so glad to clebrate the evening with them, Emily, Dakota and Grandma. Emily had parked their car over where the fireworks were early so that we could have "front row seats." And we had "front row seats". We could feel the fire works and had so much ash fall on us. Grandma stayed at Brent & Emily's. It was GREAT to be able to talk with everyone there. Thank you for having us again, Emily.Deborah & I keeping the ash awayDakota was so proud to be holding Baby Eli.
